Arnett Hollow Plays Bluegrass Underground with Silver Jews
Arnett Hollow plays Bluegrass Underground at Cumberland Caverns with Silver Jews.
Press Release (PressBurner) Jan 27, 2009 - Arnett Hollow will play Bluegrass Underground at Cumberland Caverns with the Silver Jews on Saturday, January 31, 2009.
Bluegrass Underground is a radio show taped 333 feet underground in the Volcano Room at Cumberland Caverns, in McMinnville, TN. The show is broadcast on Nashville's 650 WSM the last Friday night of each month. Every year there are only 12 shows in the cavern.
Arnett Hollow is an indie rock band built out of the talents of Mike Dufrese, Cheyenne Mize, Chris Rodahaffer, Dave Chandler, and Rob Edwards. The band was formed in 2007 in Louisville, KY.
Arnett Hollow’s sound is drenched acoustic instrumentation driven into the realm of rock and roll. The combination of Dufresne’s driving double bass, Mize’s singing fiddle, and Rodahaffer’s agile acoustic guitar with Chandler’s wailing electric guitar and Edward’s precise percussion will knock your socks off. They finished up recording their next record with Grammy winning engineer, Phil Harris, at the end of 2008. It will be released later in 2009.
The highly anticipated Bluegrass Underground show sold out weeks in advance. Who knows when either band will play in a cave again? The show has also been hyped in recent days since Silver Jew’s David Berman announced on his website that this show marks the end of the band.
