"Artistic Trio: Yuri Olishkevych, Anatoly Khmara, Oleksiy Kovalenko" Exhibit Opening June 5, 2009

The Ukrainian National Museum presnets “Artistic Trio: Yuri Olishkevych, Anatoly Khmara, Oleksiy Kovalenko” on Friday, June 5, 2009 at 7:00 pm. A showcase of three exceptional Ukrainian artists and their retrospectives. Exhibit through June 27th.

Press Release (PressBurner) Jun 02, 2009 - The Ukrainian National Museum invites you to the opening of the “Artistic Trio: Yuri Olishkevych, Anatoly Khmara, Oleksiy Kovalenko” on Friday, June 5, 2009 at 7:00 pm. This exhibit will showcase the works of these exceptional and talented Ukrainian artists. The artists’ exhibits represent a retrospective of their individual work. A unique opportunity is provided to view the work of three very distinctive Ukrainian artists in this single splendid show. The exhibit of the “Artistic Trio” will continue through June 27th.

Yuri Olishkevych received his Master of Arts from the L’viv Institute of Applied & Decorative Arts, in Ukraine. A talented Ukrainian artist, his work has been shown in exhibits throughout Ukraine, including Kyiv, Kharkiv and Chernihiv. His art, shown beyond the borders of Ukraine, has included exhibitions from Seattle to New Hampshire and from Chicago to shows in Canada. Yurii Olishkevych paints with the brush of realism.
Anatoly Khmara, at the age of five, entered the studio of Visual Art for Gifted Children in Kyiv, and went on to earn his Masters in Fine Arts at the Fedorov Institute of Art and Graphic Design in Kyiv, Ukraine. His artworks are featured in public and private collections throughout the world. Anatoly opened the Medici Art Center in 2005 to teach transformational art education to a wider audience.

Oleksiy Kovalenko, having matriculated from the Artistic Design School in Kyiv, began his artistic career in his beloved Kyiv. His contribution to art included design and special effects for the Dovzhenko Kyiv State Cinema and educational and documentary animation for the Kyiv State Cinema.  From private galleries in Seattle to the International Cultural Center in Minneapolis his exhibits have moved his audience with the beauty of his artwork. Oleksiy Kovalenko’s art is reminiscent of his much-loved Ukraine.

The Ukrainian National Museum is located in the heart of the Ukrainian Village, at 2249 West Superior Street in Chicago. Hours: Thursday through Sunday, 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, and Monday through Wednesday by appointment only. Admission: Adults $5.00, Children under 12 - Free.
