WARRIORS FORM A MULTIPLE PARTNERSHIP TO ASSIST MARCH OF DIMES CALIFORNIA CHAPTER FOR THE 2009 SEASON AND SJPAL YOUTH

The California Warriors of the Northern California Football League (NCFL) are forming a multiple partnership with the March of Dimes and Bank of the West for the 2009 season in order to help support their mission toward improving the health of new-born infants at home games.  Each Home game a portion of proceeds also go to assist SJPAL Youth Sports too.  Ticket prices are $10.00 each and team logo memorabilia will also be available for sale.

“We are delighted that the Warriors and Bank of the West are champions for the health of all babies”, said Kevin McClure, Executive Director of the Bay Area Division of the March of Dimes.

The most urgent infant health problem in the U.S. today is premature birth. It affects more than half a million babies each year, with the number growing every day. The March of Dimes is the leading nonprofit organization for pregnancy and baby health.  With chapters nationwide and its premier event, March for Babies, the March of Dimes works to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.

As one of the premiere minor league football teams in the Bay Area, The California Warriors will contribute proceeds from the home game raffles, food vending, gate proceeds and online donations to both the March of Dimes and with the equal partnership of the San Jose Police Department’s Police Athletic League (PAL). Proceeds of the money raised will help support The March of Dimes’ lifesaving research, community services, education and advocacy that help babies get a healthy start.

"We were introduced to the March of Dimes through our relationship with Bank of the West,” said Warriors General Manager Tim Mendoza, “We felt as though it was a no-brainer to team up with such an wonderful cause and hopefully be able to contribute as best as we can with proceeds from our ticket sales and online donations.”

The California Warriors are a non-profit Minor League Football Organization that is founded on four guided Principles: Discipline, Commitment, Character and Excellence. The organization promotes talented and experienced athletes who have the willingness to improve themselves as players as well as their communities by giving to local youth.
