Press Release (PressBurner) Sep 09, 2009 - New Delhi, India – Delhi has become a hub of filmwalas these days with more and more film shootings happening in the capital. Recently Vikas Katyal & Yashika Nagpal starring film Checkmate has completed its shooting in Delhi. The film is shot in the outer areas of Delhi like Rohini. ‘Checkmate’ is a story of love versus materialism. The film deals with the psyche of today's Indian youth and future of our generations. "While writing this film, I avoided any cliché elements. Even I avoided a conventional way of writing a film screenplay that is writing a story first and then writing the screenplay. I just wrote the whole film's screenplay at once without knowing the story, not only as writer, but in fact as an audience. Wherever I felt that the story was going into a conventional direction, I just changed the direction of the story into an unknown territory, unknown to me and the characters in the film. And then I discovered the story with my characters as they discovered and enjoyed as an audience. The whole process was very adventurous and enjoying and I hope that audience would also enjoy it. Also, the film has a great comedy which would make the audience laugh and laugh,” says the film producer, writer and director Nikhil Sablania. Checkmate will be releasing next year. The film is also starring Vishal Mundra in a very special role. Cinematography is done by Susheel Gautam, Sound by Rajendra Prasad, Editing by Shashikat. Sudhir Raut is associate director with Raikishori as Chief assistant director. The film is produced by Cowdung films, India.
