EcoPlanet TV Announces a New Program on Sustainability and Green Products
EcoPlanet TV is reaching out to the world with a strong message on the environment surrounding sustainability, with thier new series “Creating a Sustainable World.” They are highlighting one of their upcoming segments on water conservation.
Press Release (PressBurner) Feb 13, 2009 - Conserving water is making the headlines in the laundry industry and it represents a paradigm shift from traditional laundering methods. “ You no longer are bound to the wash formula where fixes amounts of water, chemicals and the time are absolutely required,“ said the Senior Producer for the program. New laundry systems must be created and utilized for water conservation to be effective. Alfredo J. Teran, President and CEO of Agrimond LLC, said "These products are the next industry standards. You maintain superior cleaning quality while reducing the amount of water needlessly sent down the drains each day. Plus, you reduce the amount of chemicals used to clean laundry, which helps in the reduction of allergens for sensitive guests."
For example, new laundry systems are capable of consistently delivering ozonated water to washers to clean fabrics thoroughly and completely. The process includes taking water from the city supply and mixing it with ozone gas, which has an oxidizing power 3,000 times more effective than bleach. The ozonated water expertly cleans away dirt, oils and bacteria in fabrics while reducing the usage of hot water and chemicals in the laundering process. The system also greatly reduces the wash and drying time. As a result not only are companies happier with the results of these new types of laundry systems, but their impact on the environment is reduced greatly. “When you're running out of water, you don't care about what the energy bill is...and we're in dire straits here in California,” said David Zoldoske, director of CIT at California State University-Fresno. “Where people can use water more efficiently, people will opt for that.... But the availability and reliability of water is more of a concern.” How water is used will have a direct impact on the environment, and the use of new laundry systems that use less water and work more effectively are products that will move us into a sustainable future.
This new series “Creating a Sustainable World” was developed to explore the latest trends, innovations and new technology in sustainability. The series will also be featuring a variety of organizations and their efforts in developing technology, implementing greener practices and educating in all areas of sustainability, conservation and preservation.
