Press Release (PressBurner) Apr 21, 2009 - Valerie Mason-Robinson of Eden Organix and Mattie Kahn of Teens Going Green spoke on a panel together recently at the Go Green Expo in New York City. Teens Going Green is promoting Project Green Prom. Project Green Prom is a movement that encourages teens to go “green” this prom season from eco-friendly makeup such as, Jane Iredale or “green” nail polish like Spa Ritual.
Eden Organix in support of Project Green Prom is sponsoring a Makeup Party on Thursday, April 23rd from 5 to 7pm with “green” makeup products from Jane Iredale, Nvey Eco Organic Makeup, and Stript Vegan Makeup. The makeup party will feature free makeovers and refreshments. Valerie says, we have to educate consumers about the dangerous chemicals within the cosmetic industry. The cosmetic industry is the least regulated industry under the Food and Drug Administration. Valerie states, “Consumers must do research for themselves, information is power!” Consumers have a choice and today there are many “green” beauty products and they’re not just for teens. Over a lifetime, if a person constantly, puts products on their skin that are filled with chemicals such as, parabens and sulfates it has a cumulative effect. Valerie aka “The Green Beauty” I don’t believe it’s an accident that we see a rise in different disease such as, breast cancer and ADD, I’m not a doctor but long term these chemicals can have a harmful effect.
Valerie suggests you check websites like: Skindeep.com, safecosmetics.org and www.ecoconsciousbeauty.com for more information. If you or your teens are interested in going green and would like more information then come to Eden Organix’s makeup party on April 23rd from 5-7pm.
