It depicts all the initial criminal and smuggling activities of the underworld and its evolution to the present day international terrorism. The film is based on true facts. The film is the story of two gangsters with parallel lives and their conflict for survival within Mumbai’s murky gangland. It is set in Mumbai of the seventies, when Haji Mastan was the uncrowned king of the Mumbai underworld, depicts the rise and fall of Sultan (Ajay Devgn) when his protégé, Shoaib (Emraan Hashmi) dares to defy his supremacy.
