R&B Live DC is the City’s Spotlight for Today's Latest Upcoming Talent
Press Release (PressBurner) Apr 13, 2009 - In the past several months, R&B Live DC has provided the city with a power packed event with incredible unsigned and national talent and this month R&B Live DC will continue to deliver. On Tuesday, April 21st R&B Live DC proudly announces Grammy Nominated artist Wayna to Posh Restaurant & Supper Lounge. Wayna, who is described by Stevie Wonder stating “she is incredible”, has opened for Amerie, Fantasia, Kindred, Ashford & Simpson, Bobby Valentino and more. She was most recently nominated for a 2009 Grammy for her top 10 single “My Love” on Hot R&B Singles chart which also featured a Washington, DC native Kokayi. Wayna’s “My Love” music video premiered on BETJ as well this year. Her sophomore album is titled “Higher Ground” and is available right now.
R&B Live DC will once again be hosted by the wonderful WKYS personality Antonio “The Cuban Cigar Smoker” and DJ Huck Fin will be spinning. The opening act for this month’s R&B Live DC will be Washington DC’s own Kev.O. He’s a graduate of Howard University with a degree in music and opened for the likes of Raheem DeVaughn, Chrisette Michele, and R&B Live DC’s special guest Wayna. In 2008, he had much success of “4 Singles Only!” and is now currently working on the “Lovolution: The Urban Alternative” and its prequel “The Focus” LP.
