Team of 11 jumps from the skies to support Charity
Press Release (PressBurner) Jul 24, 2009 - The team of 11, known as, “Jumping Into Life - Being Fearless in the Face of Certain Uncertainty,” complete their project tomorrow, as they each perform a tandem skydive. The Team Leader, Christy Fair, started this team after attending a Landmark Education seminar. It was her community project. She enlisted the help of her friends and family, to make her team, and then the help of their friends and family, in raising money.
Each member of the team has raised a minimum of $500 to participate in the jump. 10 members of the team will be donating the money raised to the MS Society of Southern California, while the 11th jumper will be donating her money to Breast Cancer Research.
“This project is inspired by the birth of Lauren Steel,” says Christy, “her father has MS, and despite this challenge, he and his wife have chosen to bring a new life into this world. I can’t think of a more fearless challenge or worthy cause.” Lauren was still in utero when Christy began her planning, and was born on July 2nd, 2009.
Among those making the jump is LCpl Stephen Luchini USMC. Luchini is the most recent to join the group, using his personal time to support a noble cause.
If you are near Lake Elsinore on the 25th, look up at the skies. If you see a small dot rapidly approaching the ground, you are seeing the end of a journey. This team has worked together to raise over $5,000 for research to end life-changing illnesses. You are seeing a community hero – a shooting star.
