The Green Bay Packers are Close to resigning Greg Jennings
At this point in time, the Packers are working on a new contract for their star receiver Greg Jennings. Since Jennings is an easy top ten receiver in the NFL, this is a wise move on the Packers part, to resign him.

Green Bay has been lucky in the past two decades to have a legend quarterback (Brett Favre) and a bunch of great receivers. From Sterling Sharpe to current day Donald Driver and Jennings, the Packers have been a threat though the air, for a long time.
While it is always a luxury to have a solid quarterback, there is no guarantee that quarterback will have great weapons to throw too. Just look at Donovan McNabb, before and after they lost Terrell Owens, the Eagles have never had a rock solid No.1 receiver. Even the great Tom Brady never had a true No.1, until the Patriots traded for Randy Moss.
What Greg Jennings Means to the Packers Offense
Greg has put up stellar numbers in the past two seasons. He has totaled an top notch 2,212 yards receiving in the time, as well as 21 touchdowns. Jennings also supports a career 16.o yards per catch as well.
When you consider that Greg also posted those stats with two different quarterbacks, these numbers are even more impressive. Not to also add that he produced all this, in just his second and third years in the league!
With Donald Driver getting older, the Packers need to rely on Jennings to be the main down the field target. With this threat in place, the rest of Green Bay's offense opens up. Driver is free to grab more balls underneath and Ryan Grant has less defenders focusing on him.
It is key receiving threats like a Jennings or a Moss that consistently change the way a game is played, by just being on the field.
For the Packers to make the commitment now and get a new deal done with Greg, sets this franchise (and Aaron Rodgers) up for success for years to come.
